Commercial Fitness Facilities We Have Equipped in California

Projects here run the same way they do anywhere: the room is measured and drawn to scale first, the equipment list follows from the layout, and delivery and installation are managed rather than left as a freight drop-off. Coverage is confirmed per project, since some equipment lines carry territory arrangements.

Markets we have equipped in California

Los Angeles, San Diego, Irvine, Santa Clarita, Moreno Valley, Carmichael, Victorville, Pleasanton, Pacific Palisades, San Bernardino, Gardena and Upland, and others. Facilities in the communities around them are served from the same projects, so it is worth asking even if your market is not named here.

How a project runs, from drawing to installed room

  • The room is drawn before it is quoted

A layout to scale comes first, with ADA clearances, floor loading and power planned into it. Most of the work here is in apartment and condominium communities, fire stations, and the equipment list follows from the room rather than the other way round.

  • One order, several manufacturers

Cardio, strength, flooring and accessories rarely come from one brand. We consolidate them into a single order and a single delivery date, so the room lands together.

  • Managed installation, wherever it is

Equipment is assembled, placed to the approved layout and function-tested on site by crews we manage or installers we work with — never a bare freight drop-off.

The facilities we equip in California

Apartment and condominium amenity rooms

An unstaffed room open around the clock is a different specification from a supervised one, and treating it as the same is where liability creeps in. With nobody present to spot a lift, correct form or clear a jam, we favor equipment that is safe to use alone and hard to misuse, and we keep the clearances genuinely clear — ADA wants a 30 by 48 in clear floor space for at least one of each type of machine, reached by a 36 in accessible route. In a staffed club an obstruction gets moved within the hour; in a resident gym it stays there until somebody complains. More on apartment gym equipment and design.

Fire station fitness rooms

A station gym never closes, so light-commercial equipment rated for intermittent use fails early here and is replaced out of a budget that did not plan for it. Continuous-duty specification costs more once and less over the life of the room. The structure deserves the same early question: IBC Table 1607.1 designs fitness areas for 100 psf, and apparatus bays and upper-floor quarters were not necessarily framed with a loaded rack in mind. More on equipping fire station fitness rooms.

The rest of what we equip there

Those two are what California orders most, not the limit of what we supply there. The same design, flooring, delivery and installation work covers every other facility type:

What decides the room before the equipment list

Planning the room before the equipment list

Whatever the facility type, the room sets the equipment list rather than the other way round. ACSM allows 25 to 50 sq ft per station on the fitness floor, and ADA requires at least one of each TYPE of exercise machine to have a 30 by 48 in clear floor space served by an accessible route — 36 by 48 in where that space is enclosed on three sides. Drawn to scale, those two figures usually settle the realistic piece count before budget enters the conversation.

Power, planned with the layout

Electrical is the item most often missed on a conversion, because the room was not wired for it. Commercial treadmill manufacturers specify a dedicated 120V, 20-amp branch circuit per treadmill with a non-looped neutral and ground — eight treadmills is eight circuits and a panel schedule that has to accommodate them. Settling that during design is what lets a cardio bank sit where the sight lines want it rather than where the existing outlets happen to be.

What happens after the room opens

Equipment on a busy floor is a maintained asset, not a purchase. Preventive maintenance scheduled against hours of use rather than the calendar catches the wear that ends in a failed frame, and an asset register is what makes a repair quotable without a site visit to find out what is in the room. Parts are not stocked in this industry, so a first visit identifies the exact part rather than finishing the repair — being straight about that is more useful than a response-time claim.

In short

Commercial fitness facilities in California including Los Angeles, San Diego, Irvine and Santa Clarita have been designed, supplied and installed by Fit Supply. Work there runs to apartment and condominium communities, fire stations, home and individual customers. Accessible routes through a finished floor are held at a 36 inch minimum clear width, which is planned at layout rather than found at inspection.

Common questions about California projects

Does Fit Supply work in California?

Yes. We have supplied and installed commercial fitness facilities in California, including Los Angeles, San Diego, Irvine, Santa Clarita and Moreno Valley. Facilities in surrounding communities are served from the same projects, so it is worth asking even if your market is not named. Coverage is confirmed per project, since some equipment lines carry territory arrangements.

Does an unstaffed resident gym change what you specify?

Considerably. With nobody present to spot or intervene, we favor equipment that is safe to use alone and hard to misuse, and we keep the ADA clearances genuinely clear — a 30 by 48 in space for at least one of each machine type, reached by a 36 in accessible route. In a staffed club an obstruction gets moved; in an unstaffed room it stays there.

What flooring suits a station gym with free weights?

Specified by zone. ASTM F2772 treats floor performance as measured properties — force reduction, vertical deformation, ball bounce and surface friction — so a free-weight drop area asks for different values than a cardio corner. One specification across the whole room typically overspends in one area and underperforms in the other.

What do I need to have ready before installation day?

A confirmed date, access, and a room that is actually finished. You are responsible for site readiness: adequate space, the flooring down, structural capacity for the equipment, and electrical service matching the proposal — as an example, 110V treadmills each need a dedicated 100–125VAC, 50/60Hz, 20A circuit on a NEMA 5-20R outlet, independently isolated. Electrical is the item most often discovered late and the most expensive to fix after the walls are closed, so it is worth confirming with your electrician against our equipment list well before the delivery date.

How long does a gym design take?

Usually one to two weeks, delivered together with an equipment quote. You are not given a single take-it-or-leave-it option: we work through the space with you and typically present two to three quotes at different price tiers, with equipment choices at each, so you can see the trade-offs rather than just a total.
