Campus recreation centers are the opposite scale — extended hours, very high traffic, an enormous range of ability, and a student body that treats the rec center as a primary amenity when choosing where to enrol. Throughput planning and equipment durability drive those specifications.

Safety and supervision requirements are stricter in education than anywhere else. Layouts have to give a coach or staff member clear sightlines across the whole floor, spotting space around platforms, and circulation that works when a full class enters at once.

How is a school weight room specified differently?

What ceiling height does a school weight room need?
Plan for 12 ft minimum, and 14 ft where rigs, rope anchors or overhead work are involved. Racks with pull-up stations need clearance above a standing athlete with arms extended, which is more than most gymnasium-adjacent spaces provide. This is the specification item most often discovered too late, because unlike equipment selection it cannot be revised once the space is chosen.
Can installation fit into a summer break?
Yes, and for most institutions it has to. Education work is scheduled into summer and break windows when the building is actually available, which means procurement has to start early enough that equipment lands inside that window rather than at the front of a term. We plan the order dates backwards from the break, not forwards from the approval.
Do you work with institutional purchasing and bids?
Yes — formal bids, cooperative contracts and fiscal-year budget cycles are the normal route for schools, districts and universities. Quotes are itemized to map onto how the purchase gets approved, and we can supply the documentation a purchasing office or board needs without a second round of paperwork.
Is there a minimum order?
No. Fit Supply will sell a single set of dumbbells, one treadmill, or an entire facility. There is no minimum order value and no requirement to buy a package.
Are you insured, and can you install outside business hours?
Yes on both. Fit Supply is fully insured and can provide certificates of insurance for building management. We work to whatever schedule the site requires and have completed overnight and weekend installations where a facility could not close during the day.
What condition is your used equipment sold in?
In one of three clearly defined conditions. As-Is is sold with no service and no warranty, accepted in its present condition. Cleaned and Serviced means the moving and wear components have been inspected and lubricated, cleaned, calibrated or replaced as needed, cosmetics are not addressed, and it carries a 30-day parts-and-labor warranty. Remanufactured means returned to like-new working condition with a painted frame and replaced wear components, and carries a 90-day parts-and-labor warranty. Used sales are final, and stated model, age, hours and specifications are approximate.
What do I need to have ready before installation day?
A confirmed date, access, and a room that is actually finished. You are responsible for site readiness: adequate space, the flooring down, structural capacity for the equipment, and electrical service matching the proposal — as an example, 110V treadmills each need a dedicated 100–125VAC, 50/60Hz, 20A circuit on a NEMA 5-20R outlet, independently isolated. Electrical is the item most often discovered late and the most expensive to fix after the walls are closed, so it is worth confirming with your electrician against our equipment list well before the delivery date.
