Gym Equipment Installation in Austin
From the Approved Drawing to a Room That Works
A large share of Austin work is specified while the building is still on paper, which changes what installation day looks like. When the layout has been drawn, approved and built to, the install is an execution job. When it has not, it becomes a negotiation on the floor about what actually fits — and that is the expensive version.
The plan is the instruction
Equipment goes exactly where the approved drawing puts it. That sounds procedural until you notice what the drawing was protecting: ACSM allows 25 to 50 sq ft per station once a machine is genuinely usable, and the ADA wants a 30 by 48 in clear floor space for at least one of each TYPE of machine, reached by a 36 in accessible route, with a 60 in turning space in the room. Placing a piece 200 mm off to gain space is how a room quietly stops meeting the standard it was drawn to.
Route, door and lift
Before delivery the route is surveyed end to end. The door is the usual constraint — the ADA sets a 32 in minimum clear opening measured with the door open 90 degrees, and a nominal 3 ft leaf does not deliver that once the stop and hardware are counted. Floors are protected along the whole route, not only in the room.
Assembled, tested, and cleared
Every machine is assembled and tested on site, anything that will not run is called in before the crew leaves, and the packaging goes out with them. Commercial treadmills each need a dedicated 120V, 20-amp circuit with a non-looped neutral and ground, confirmed before the delivery is scheduled rather than discovered during it.
The volume behind it
294 Austin sales orders were shipped as a commercial installation, across 194 customer sites — recorded as installed by us rather than delivered to a dock, within 3,754 across Texas. A large share of Texas installation work is also performed for other manufacturers and dealers rather than on Fit Supply’s own sales: 866 orders statewide on that basis.
An Austin room, start to finish
The Austin apartment strength room shows the 3D render, the floor plan and the installed photograph of the same room side by side. Design and equipment supply across the metro is on the Austin commercial fitness equipment page; the full sequence is on delivery and installation.
In short
Fit Supply installs commercial gym equipment across the Austin area — Round Rock, Georgetown, Pflugerville, Cedar Park and San Marcos included — with its own Texas crew. Equipment is placed to the approved plan rather than to whatever fits on the day, which is what keeps the ADA clearances a drawing reserved: a 30 by 48 in clear floor space for at least one of each machine type, on a 36 in route.
Gym Equipment Installation in Austin — common questions
Do you install across the whole Austin metro?
Yes — Round Rock, Georgetown, Pflugerville, Hutto, Bastrop and San Marcos as well as Austin itself, each with its own coverage page. Texas installations are performed by Fit Supply’s own crew rather than subcontracted.
Why does equipment have to go exactly where the plan says?
Because the plan is what reserved the clearances. ACSM allows 25 to 50 sq ft per station and the ADA requires a 30 by 48 in clear floor space for at least one of each machine type on a 36 in route. Moving a piece to gain floor space is usually taking it from one of those.
Can you install equipment during construction?
Usually near the end of it, and it has to be sequenced with the other trades — flooring down and cured, electrical complete and tested, the room lockable. We would rather delay a week than install onto a floor that is not ready.
What happens if a machine is faulty on arrival?
It is found during commissioning, because every piece is assembled and tested before the crew leaves. The fault is logged and called in that day, and the replacement or repair is tracked by us rather than handed to the customer to chase with the manufacturer.
