Plano Fitness Facility Projects, Start to Finish

Fit Supply designs, supplies and installs commercial fitness facilities in Plano. We have equipped rooms across the Dallas–Fort Worth area and work in Plano regularly, handling everything from a single amenity gym to a multi-property rollout.

The work we do in Plano runs heavily to apartment and condominium communities, corporate wellness centers, health clubs and gyms. That mix shapes what we recommend — an unstaffed amenity room and a supervised training floor are different specifications, and we plan for the one you actually have.

Because we run installation crews in the Dallas–Fort Worth area rather than booking freight, a Plano project gets delivered, assembled and placed to plan in one visit. Old equipment can go out on the same trip when a room is being replaced.

Plano sits alongside Frisco, Richardson and Allen in our Dallas–Fort Worth coverage, and a group of properties across those can run on a single equipment package and a single parts pipeline.

For Plano facilities we cover consultation and layout through to the maintenance plan, including flooring, mirrors, finance options and extended warranties. Existing equipment can be appraised and bought back rather than paid to dispose of.

Working in Plano

Most of our work in Plano is apartment and condominium communities, corporate wellness centers and health clubs and gyms.

What we equip in Plano

The three categories below are the ones Plano works in most, ranked by the volume we have actually supplied there. Each asks something different of the floor, the power and the clearances, so each is planned from the room outward.

Apartment and condominium amenity rooms

An amenity gym has to serve a resident in their seventies and one in their twenties, and a room that only works for the second is an amenity half the building cannot use. That makes inclusive use a selection criterion rather than a nice-to-have: ASTM F3021 is the standard specification for universal design of fitness equipment for people with functional limitations and impairments, covering the machines themselves — step-through access, grip points, seat height. The ADA clearances govern the space around them. They are two separate jobs and a leasing tour notices when only one has been done. More on multifamily gym design and equipment.

Corporate fitness centers

A corporate fitness center is nearly always carved out of space designed for something else, which makes the live load the first question rather than a late one. IBC Table 1607.1 designs fitness areas for 100 psf — a change of use against most existing office floor and a question for the building’s structural engineer. The answer decides whether the heavy strength equipment sits where the plan wants it or gets moved toward a column line, and finding out during fit-out is the expensive version. More on corporate wellness center design.

Health clubs and training studios

A club floor that looks full on paper and feels congested at 6pm has usually been planned on total square footage instead of throughput. The number that governs is per station: ACSM allows 25 to 50 sq ft, and where a piece lands in that spread is the difference between a plate-loaded row needing access on both sides and a cardio piece against a wall. Circulation is a separate budget again, with ADA setting the accessible route at a 36 in minimum clear width. Members experience that arithmetic every visit, which is why we settle it on a drawing. Service, Repairs and Preventive Maintenance in Plano

Fit Supply provides equipment service, repairs, and preventive maintenance across Texas — delivered directly by Fit Supply or through our sister company, On Site Fitness Service. Plano is in Fit Supply's home market, minutes from our Irving office.

What we've done in Plano

Our records show at least 124 documented service, repair and preventive-maintenance visits across 20 Plano customer sites — a floor, not a ceiling, since not every On Site Fitness Service job carries this tag.

Preventive maintenance plans

Preventive maintenance is offered in three tiers — Silver, Gold and Platinum — see the full PM tier structure. Every repair and PM visit is quoted and approved before work begins.

Common questions about Plano projects

Why does our amenity room feel cramped with only a few machines?

Almost always circulation rather than piece count. ADA requires a 60 in diameter turning space and a 36 in minimum clear route width, and in a small room those consume more of the floor than people expect. A layout drawn to scale shows it immediately, which is why we draw before quoting.

How do we size a corporate gym for peak demand?

By planning for the peak rather than the daily average, since use concentrates before work, at lunch and immediately after. ACSM allows 25 to 50 sq ft per station, which sets the realistic piece count for the space. Duplicating the two or three pieces that actually queue usually serves a fixed budget better than adding another equipment category.

Can a gym go on the second floor of a retail space?

Often, once the structure is confirmed. IBC Table 1607.1 designs fitness areas for a 100 psf live load, and live loads over 100 psf may not be reduced. The building’s structural engineer confirms what the existing framing carries, and that answer usually shapes the layout by deciding where the heaviest equipment can sit.

What is a Registered Accessibility Specialist, and do we need one?

An RAS is the reviewer Texas requires on commercial projects with an estimated construction cost of $50,000 or more, under Texas Government Code chapter 469. The project is registered with TDLR within 30 days of permit submission, the RAS reviews the plans, and the same RAS carries out the final inspection. Below that threshold the requirement does not apply, though the ADA Standards still do.

Do you cover properties near Plano?

Yes. Plano sits inside our coverage in Dallas–Fort Worth, and the same crews work Frisco, Richardson and Allen. For an operator running more than one property across those markets, that means one specification, one point of contact and one parts channel rather than a separate arrangement per site.
