ASTM F2772 then covers the floor as measured properties — force reduction, vertical deformation, ball bounce and surface friction — which is what a platform area actually needs written into the specification. That makes inclusive use a selection criterion rather than a nice-to-have: ASTM F3021 is the standard specification for universal design of fitness equipment for people with functional limitations and impairments, covering the machines themselves — step-through access, grip points, seat height.
