Design, Equipment and Installation for Corpus Christi Facilities
Corpus Christi falls inside Fit Supply's the Coastal Bend service area. We handle commercial fitness facility design, equipment supply and installation here, run out of our Irving operation.
In Corpus Christi we work mostly on police departments, apartment and condominium communities, health clubs and gyms. See the facility types we equip.
In Corpus Christi we deliver and install with crews we manage. Machines are assembled, placed to the approved layout, leveled and checked on site — not dropped in a car park for someone else to sort out. For a commercial fitness room that means the room is usable the day we finish.
Our the Coastal Bend coverage puts Portland and Robstown within the same service radius as Corpus Christi. For an operator running health clubs across more than one of those, that means consistent equipment and one parts channel instead of a separate arrangement per site.
For Corpus Christi facilities we cover consultation and layout through to the maintenance plan, including flooring, mirrors, finance options and extended warranties. Existing equipment can be appraised and bought back rather than paid to dispose of.

Working in Corpus Christi
Most of our work in Corpus Christi is police departments, apartment and condominium communities and health clubs and gyms.
What we equip in Corpus Christi
The three categories below are the ones Corpus Christi works in most, ranked by the volume we have actually supplied there. Each asks something different of the floor, the power and the clearances, so each is planned from the room outward.
Police department fitness rooms
Rotating shifts mean the room is never closed and the equipment is never rested, so light-commercial gear rated for intermittent use wears out years early and gets replaced from a budget that did not expect it. Continuous-duty specification is the cheaper answer over the life of the room. Placement needs confirming too: IBC Table 1607.1 designs fitness areas for a 100 psf live load, and these rooms usually go into existing municipal buildings rather than purpose-built space. More on public safety gym equipment and design.
Apartment and condominium amenity rooms
The most common disappointment in an amenity room is discovering it holds fewer pieces than the budget bought. Square footage is a poor guide: ACSM allows 25 to 50 sq ft per station once the machine is actually usable, and ADA adds a 30 by 48 in clear floor space for at least one of each TYPE of machine on an accessible route, though that space may overlap the route and sit in the aisle behind the piece. We draw the room to scale and tell you the honest number before anything is ordered, which is cheaper than a return. More on multifamily gym design and equipment.
Health clubs and training studios
Studio rooms get designed for their class capacity and their doorway gets designed last, which is why the access dimensions are where a club renovation most often fails inspection. ADA sets a 32 in minimum clear door opening, measured between the face of the door and the stop with the door open 90 degrees, rising to 36 in where the opening is deeper than 24 in, plus a 60 in diameter turning space inside. The detail that catches people: a nominal 3 ft leaf does not yield 36 in. Cheap to fix on a plan, expensive once the wall is built. More on health club equipment and design.

Common questions about Corpus Christi projects
What should a department consider before adding a fitness room?
Where it goes and how hard it will be used. IBC Table 1607.1 designs fitness areas for a 100 psf live load, so adding one to an existing municipal building is a change of use for the structural engineer. Rotating shifts also mean continuous use with no recovery window, which points to commercial rather than light-commercial equipment.
Does an alcove or recessed bay change the clearance we need?
Yes. ADA requires a 30 by 48 in clear floor space for at least one of each TYPE of machine, but where that space is enclosed on three sides it becomes 36 by 48 in. In an alcove layout that difference frequently decides whether the last piece fits, which is a reason to settle the plan before the order.
Should the whole gym have the same flooring?
Rarely. ASTM F2772 treats floor performance as measured properties — force reduction, vertical deformation, ball bounce and surface friction — and a free-weight drop zone, a turf lane and a group studio each need different values. We specify by zone, which usually costs less than taking the heaviest specification across the whole floor.
Does a Texas fitness build need an accessibility review?
If the estimated construction cost is $50,000 or more, yes. Under Texas Government Code chapter 469, the project is registered with TDLR and reviewed by a Registered Accessibility Specialist, with registration due within 30 days of permit submission, and the same RAS performs the final inspection. It is worth confirming early, because it sits on the permit timeline rather than beside it.
Do you cover properties near Corpus Christi?
Yes. Corpus Christi sits inside our coverage in the Coastal Bend, and the same crews work Portland and Robstown. Where a portfolio spans several of those markets, it is one specification and one point of contact instead of renegotiating each site separately.
