Echelon Reflect touchscreen smart mirror mounted in a community fitness studio in Apopka, Florida

Case Study

Apopka, Florida’s Spin Studio and Smart Mirror

A Dedicated Studio Anchored by an Echelon Reflect Touchscreen Mirror

This is a real Fit Supply project for a residential community in Apopka, Florida — proof that a clubhouse amenity can be a genuine reason to choose a community, not a room of machines, told here at full length.

The photographs below are real, unedited install-day documentation — not a staged photoshoot. If a frame shows a stray tool, an unracked weight or a corner not yet tidied, that is what a real install day looks like, not a flaw in the finished room.

The brief

A residential community in Apopka, Florida wanted its clubhouse fitness amenity to read as a real studio, not a room of leftover equipment nobody chose deliberately — the kind of amenity a resident mentions to a friend rather than one they simply expect. That brief is a design decision as much as an equipment list: a room can have every category of machine covered and still feel generic if nothing in it is worth a second look.

A studio built around one real anchor

The finished space sets aside a dedicated area for a genuine spin studio — three Echelon Connect bikes and a TKO AirRaid rower on their own flooring, facing a 50-inch Echelon Reflect touchscreen mirror that streams live and on-demand class content. A smart mirror like this is still an uncommon amenity outside of the highest-end builds, and it does the job a single differentiator is supposed to do: it gives the room an identity beyond "there is cardio and there is strength here," and it gives residents a reason to actually use the space at hours a standard equipment room would sit empty.

A full floor around it

The studio does not stand alone. A cardio row pairs a CORE StairMaster 8 Series Gauntlet X stepmill with additional cardio machines under natural light, and the strength side runs a five-machine Nautilus Instinct line — dual adjustable pulley, lat pulldown/low row, leg extension/leg curl, leg press/calf raise and a multi-press — alongside a Nautilus Smith machine. A TRX-equipped functional corner rounds out the room with a fully loaded storage rack of kettlebells, slam balls and a Troy plyo box, so the studio reads as one feature of a complete floor rather than the only thing worth photographing.

The same process, matched to what the room needed

Which piece goes where on a floor like this is a specification decision, not a template — a dedicated studio corner only works if the rest of the room still covers real cardio and strength training without feeling crowded around it. That is exactly what a site visit and a real 2D and 3D layout are for, worked out against the room’s own dimensions before anything is ordered. See our design and layout page for how that process runs on every Fit Supply project, studio amenities included.

In short

A residential community in Apopka, Florida wanted its clubhouse fitness studio to feel like a boutique amenity, not a leasing checkbox. Fit Supply built a dedicated spin studio around three Echelon Connect bikes, a TKO AirRaid rower and a 50-inch Echelon Reflect smart mirror, alongside a full cardio row, a five-machine Nautilus Instinct strength line and a TRX-equipped functional corner.

Common questions about this project

Was this project designed and installed by Fit Supply, or is it a reference example?

This is a real Fit Supply project — the design, the equipment and the installation of this clubhouse studio and its surrounding floor. The community and its management company are not named, consistent with how every project on this site is described, but the photographs are real, unedited install photography, checked individually for anything identifying the property before publishing.

Why build a dedicated spin studio around a smart mirror instead of just adding more bikes to the main floor?

A smart mirror like the Echelon Reflect streams live and on-demand class content, which works best as its own destination rather than one more machine in a row — a resident chooses to walk into a studio for a class the same way they would choose a boutique fitness studio off-site. Keeping it on its own flooring, facing the mirror, is what makes the room read as a studio rather than a bike parked in a corner of the gym.

What equipment is in this room, and why so many different brands?

Echelon Connect bikes and a Reflect touchscreen mirror in the studio; a StairMaster stepmill and additional cardio on the main floor; a five-machine Nautilus Instinct strength line and a Nautilus Smith machine; and a TRX-equipped functional corner with a TKO rower and a Troy plyo box. Fit Supply carries a broad range of commercial equipment brands rather than any one house line — the mix on a project is matched to what that room actually needs, not sold from a preferred supplier. See our equipment procurement page for the full range of manufacturers we work with.

Does Fit Supply build dedicated studio spaces like this one regularly, or was this a one-off?

A dedicated studio corner built around a smart mirror or a similar on-demand fitness display is one of several ways Fit Supply differentiates a clubhouse or amenity room beyond the standard cardio-and-strength mix — see our multifamily amenity gym page for how that decision gets made generally, and what else can serve the same purpose on a smaller budget.
